Aim To keep updated about new information on periodontics and to use the forum to have a group discussion around this topic.
Learning objectives
  • To get familiar with the new classification of periodontal disease, including discussion of real cases
  • To discuss trends in periodontal treatment
  • To have constructive discussion on when to keep or extract periodontal compromised teeth.

Speaker Fernando Eriksson

Fernando graduated from the University of Granada Spain in 2007. As part of his training he spent one year at the University of Oslo, Norway. He then worked for three years as general practitioner in Gran Canaria where he discovered his passion for periodontics and implant dentistry. This drove him to take a three full time course at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London.

He later obtained membership in periodontics with the Royal Surgeons of Edinburgh and was recognised as a specialist in periodontics by the GDC. He joined the South Coast Team in 2013. He has carried out research in the field of bone regeneration.
