Aims and Objectives
To discuss the new referral guidelines and pathways for referral
To discuss the role of the multi-disciplinary-team (MDT) in decision making
To recognising “potential, early and established” oral cancer lesions
To be able to carry out a goal directed systematic examination
To discuss the management of oral cancer
To discuss the patient journey, the impact of modern lifestyles on disease and methods used in dealing with difficult situations
At the end of the study day, the attendees should be:
Aware of the referral guidelines and be able to make an appropriate referral
Have a better understand the role of MDT and the decision making process
Be confident in carrying out a systematic examination to identify oral cancer lesions
Be more confident in diagnosing suspected and established oral cancer lesions
Be aware of modern oral cancer management
Appreciate the patient’s journey from a patient’s perspective
Understand how modern lifestyles affect the disease process
Be aware of strategies to deal with difficult situations
